New Motivation & Inspiration | Favourites

This month I fell in love with a few new things: people (or their Instagram accounts), food (as per usual) and products that I want to share with you today.

I guess this will be the last Favourites blog post for now because I’ll be travelling with a backpack soon so I won’t have a lot of new things to share with you. Probably there will be a section in my monthly review with my loved ones I discover in Australia so I can tell you about them.

Do you already have any blog post / video suggestions that you want me to make in Australia?

I want to start doing videos and obviously still write articles on here so tell me what you are interested in down below in the comments!

I am thankful for relaxed evenings with good conversations, to spend time with people whom company I enjoy and for sure will miss when I’m Down Under.

Food

I got a few new and old favourites that I want to show you, cause there is nothing better than food – am I right? Also, I am going to share the recipe for my green-protein-smoothie I made a lot in the last weeks and you’ve probably seen it in my Instagram Stories & for my favourite salad dressing that makes all the greens taste great!

IMG_5324.JPG

I really like eating salad for lunch because I usually have a huge breakfast (like you see above) pretty late in the day cause I work out in the morning. Also, it is a great way to get all raw greens in. Sometimes I have baked sweet potato and steamed broccoli on the side or more raw veggies like tomatoes, cucumber and bell pepper. But my dressing is always the same because I love this combination so much!

Fresh Sweet & Sour Salad Dressing

All measurements are just roughly measured and it depends on how you like it to taste and how much salad you have.

  • 1 tsp olive or flaxseed oil
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 1,5 tbsp raspberry vinegar (I use a homemade one) or other fruity vinegar
  • 1,5 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp tahini
  • pepper

I really love the sour but fruity & sweet taste of this dressing and it fits perfectly to any kind of veggies & greens.

Black Smoothie

We have a lot of Kale in our Garden and because Kale is super healthy and has so many vitamins I try to have a green / almost black smoothie about 3 times a week and get all those greens in. Especially when I don’t have a salad for lunch.

  • 3 handful of fresh kale
  • 1 frozen banana
  • some frozen blueberries
  • sweet fruit like watermelon, pineapple or apple
  • half a jar of coconut water
  • half a tsp of each greens powder (I use Moringa, Barley Grass & Camu Camu)

I really like this combination cause it is cold and refreshing, nourishing but doesn’t taste too green/healthy. Do you like drinking green smoothies as well?

IMG_4955.JPG

In Berlin I ate a super yummy wrap with black rice, tofu and a tahini sauce. I never ate round black rice before (not the hard, thin one you mix with basmati rice) and it tasted so good, very flavourful and now I want to cook with it at home. I could imagine it in a salad with greens, cucumber, pepper, smoked tofu and a tahini sauce…

I also discovered a vegan „Mortadella“ and I really love it. It almost tastes like the real one (even my dad & brother like it!) and it’s perfect if you crave something savoury but not veggie-tasting on your bread. I eat it with a bit avocado as a butter substitute and I can highly recommend you to try it if you like substitutes.

Inspiration

I just recently discovered @maddielymburner on YouTube and now she is my number 1 inspiration when it comes to health, veganism, food and fitness. She is so lovely, healthy and fit and her videos really motivate me a lot and give great inspiration for meals. She also has a second Instagram account that is more fitness related @madfit.ig as well as a second YouTube Channel where she posts at home workouts that I’ve been doing since two weeks now and I really love them!

I am totally inspired by the idea of minimalism and don’t owning a lot – just what you really need. Something that I want to work on more when I’ll be back from Australia. I am sure it will be a great start to only travel with a backpack for a year and hopefully, it won’t be hard to declutter because I know that I can live a wonderful life without many things I own.

Raw Alignment and her minimalism series on YouTube really inspire me, as well as Pick up Limes, who is another great inspiration!

I found this picture on Pinterest and that’s truely how I want all my relationships to be… This picture really speaks to my heart and soul.

Last but not least I completely fell in love with @annietarasova she is such an inspiring soul and her travel photography and also videography is just beautiful. She also creates amazing art and inspires in mindfulness, self-love and more!

Doing Me | July Favorites 2018

Since there was no Favorites Post for June, this blog post is going to be full of all my beloved ones from the last two month covering many different topics.

I completely fell in love with this caricature when I saw it on Pinterest. This is how I want my relationships to be. With my boyfriend/husband, my friends and my family. This is how every good relationship should be like in my opinion.

I really am, and I love it! So many opportunities, chances, new beginnings, a lot of time and even more things to do. But everything is my choice!

Shopping

I want to start with something that is very close to my heart and that I want to get into even more myself which is sustainability. I have always been very nature-friendly and the health of our earth was always important to me but just for the last year, I started getting into it more, learning, trying, failing and giving my best.

I would never ever say that I am suuper eco-friendly and sustainable because I still do so much that could be improved and I know that, but not everything is possible when you live at home with your family and don’t have a lot of money. But I don’t want to procrastinate at all – I try my best and I will slowly but surely get better and better.

You can buy these products at Rossmann and they are much more eco-friendly!

I have already shared some things that I swapped in our household to make it more eco-friendly in this post and last month I have been to a Zero Waste Shop that sell plastic free products and food that you can fill up in your own container. It was so much fun and I was super impressed by how many things they have, that you could easily buy instead of the regular, in plastic covered stuff.

IMG_3405

I can highly recommend to everybody to go into a Zero Waste store and bring your own container or mason jars to fill up all kinds of grains, oats, muesli or flour. They also had washing powder, vegan spread, milk products and syrups or oils in large containers.

You can also buy soap bars, deodorant, body butter and other sustainable beauty products without plastic and most of their stuff is organic too.

Photography

I have been very inspired by @theocarow and @vivi_koenig because I really like their photography style and how authentic and real their pictures look like.

Books

I have already talked about my favorite books from the last few months but I still wanted to mention two of them – my absolute favorites – in this post which are „Die Bücherdiebin“ and „Die Welt wie wir sie kannten“

Lightroom

For your vacation in Portugal, I downloaded the 30-day free trial of Lightroom to edit my pictures more professional and I completely fell in love with this program. I know that it’s nothing new or special and everyone is already using it, but I just discovered how amazing it is and now I need to pay for it every month… but it’s so worth it!

IMG_4161
I already told you about the amazing food I ate the last weeks in my review for July
Food

I didn’t eat very good at the beginning of July because we were on vacation and white bread and cheese couldn’t be avoided completely. Back home I tried to eat completely vegan and very healthy which was pretty successful besides the fact that I ate out a lot (but still mostly healthy and vegan).

And I have been eating my beloved blackberries in huge amounts cause I found many blackberry bushes near my home and picked them every day.

IMG_4113.JPG

Also, I made my favorite Banana Bread again. Usually, the recipe is made with raspberries but this time I tried it with frozen blueberries and it was super delicious. Very soft and mushy at the same time – just how I love my Banana Bread!

Phone case

Werbung / Ad //  After my last phone case broke I needed a new one, that protects my phone better, especially for my adventures in Australia. That’s why I was super happy to be able to cooperate with handyhuellen.de and got a new case for my iphone 6 that covers the glass sides and still isn’t too think. I decided to go for a basic grey one with a sea through back so I could but my own pictures in there and change it when I feel like it, but there are so many different phone cases available on their side. Thank you Handyhüllen!

Algarve’s Breathtaking Beaches & Awesome View Points | Portugal Pt. 2

After talking about the cute little towns at the Algarve that we explored and the yummy food we ate, as well as some general recommendations in the first part of my travel guide for Portugal I want to share a list of our favorite beaches and some places you need to visit at the Algarve.

There will be a third part where I talk about our two-day trip to Lisbon soon!

Portugals Breathtaking Beaches at the Algarve Coast

The Algarve Coast is truly beautiful and special. High rock cliffs combined with lovely white sand beaches floating into the turquoise ocean.

DSC_0635
Praia de Anna and Praia do Camilo

…are both near Lagos and truly beautiful! You can find the known wooden stairs leading to the small bays surrounded by the cliffs. From above you have an awesome view over the ocean, the cliff formations and the beach. Both beaches are pretty small at first sight but expand when you are willing to follow short tunnels through the stones.

@gypsea_lust visited Praia de Ana as well – just some days before we went there!

Meia Praia, Lagos

Lagos main beach can be recommended as well, even tho it’s „only“ a long sand beach without the typical cliffs. But because of its length, it is not overcrowded at all and you can rent jet skis, stand up paddles and kayaks or do other fun activities there.

Praia de Benagil

This beach is probably the most popular one, although it’s not lovely at all. Way too many people and pebble beach – not what we are looking for. But you have the shortest access to the well known cave hence there are lots of boats, kayaks and paddle boards going in and out of the cave. My dad and my brother swam into the cave which is not a very long way, but the water in Portugal is pretty cold (cause it’s Atlantik water) and took some video clips and pictures there but we didn’t stay at the beach for longer.

@hilvees and @eljackson took some amazing pictures at the cave when they where there!

Praia da Marinha

Instead, we went to Praia da Marinha located nearby and definitely worth seeing. It is also a bit crowded, but the scenery is just insane! We went to this popular photo spot with the natural stone bridge where you had to climb a bit to get there and you could even jump from one of the big rocks in the water.

Praia de Carvoeiro / Algar Seco

My brother searched for a place to do cliff jumping and found one near Carvoeiro which was called Algar Seco. You walk some stairs from a parking lot to the cliffs where you can jump in the ocean. They constructed stairs into the stone so you can climb back easily and the height was – depending on the changing water level – around 5-7 meter (where I jumped from), 12-15 meter (my brother jumped from here) and around 30 meters (where some boys jumped from). The beach in Carvoeiro wasn’t very special, but still good enough to rest after the cliff jumping :D

Praia da Luz

The closest beach to our house in Espiche (talking about that in part 1 of my travel guide) was in Luz. It is pretty long and when you take the time to walk some meters you can find a more private place in the sand with a beautiful view of Luz.

Praia do Beliche

Last but not least our favorite beach: Praia do Beliche near Sagres and the viewpoint Cabo de São Vicente, the only beach we visited twice on our vacation. It is separated in two parts where only one can be arrived through stairs and the second part is only accessible while ebb tide or when you walk through the water. Therefore the second part was very empty and perfect for taking pictures. Also, the waves were pretty high at this beach and it was a lot of fun playing in them and we even rent a surfboard at this beach to try surfing for the first time (not very successful but still fun :D ).

Amazing viewpoints and places worth going

We haven’t done many sight seeing besides scrolling a bit through some cities and towns at the coast and the two-day city trip to Lison. Besides that, we spend most of our vacation at the beautiful beaches. But there are still two viewpoints I highly recommend you to go to.

DSC00651

Ponta de Piedade

A very popular viewpoint near Lagos at the Algarve and so so beautiful! Sadly we didn’t go there in the morning so the lightning in our pictures isn’t very charming.

Luckily @eljackson captured the beauty of this place

Cabo de São Vicente

The lighthouse at the Cup de São Vicente is another lovely photo spot, especially for sunset when the sun kisses the ocean good night…

We went there in the late morning to see the lighthouse and explore the area, spend the rest of the day at the Praia do Beliche nearby and came back for sunset after dinner to take some of my favorite pictures from that trip. Sunset at the sea is just magical!
