New Motivation & Inspiration | Favourites

This month I fell in love with a few new things: people (or their Instagram accounts), food (as per usual) and products that I want to share with you today.

I guess this will be the last Favourites blog post for now because I’ll be travelling with a backpack soon so I won’t have a lot of new things to share with you. Probably there will be a section in my monthly review with my loved ones I discover in Australia so I can tell you about them.

Do you already have any blog post / video suggestions that you want me to make in Australia?

I want to start doing videos and obviously still write articles on here so tell me what you are interested in down below in the comments!

I am thankful for relaxed evenings with good conversations, to spend time with people whom company I enjoy and for sure will miss when I’m Down Under.

I got a few new and old favourites that I want to show you, cause there is nothing better than food – am I right? Also, I am going to share the recipe for my green-protein-smoothie I made a lot in the last weeks and you’ve probably seen it in my Instagram Stories & for my favourite salad dressing that makes all the greens taste great!

I really like eating salad for lunch because I usually have a huge breakfast (like you see above) pretty late in the day cause I work out in the morning. Also, it is a great way to get all raw greens in. Sometimes I have baked sweet potato and steamed broccoli on the side or more raw veggies like tomatoes, cucumber and bell pepper. But my dressing is always the same because I love this combination so much!

Fresh Sweet & Sour Salad Dressing

All measurements are just roughly measured and it depends on how you like it to taste and how much salad you have.

  • 1 tsp olive or flaxseed oil
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 1,5 tbsp raspberry vinegar (I use a homemade one) or other fruity vinegar
  • 1,5 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp tahini
  • pepper

I really love the sour but fruity & sweet taste of this dressing and it fits perfectly to any kind of veggies & greens.

Black Smoothie

We have a lot of Kale in our Garden and because Kale is super healthy and has so many vitamins I try to have a green / almost black smoothie about 3 times a week and get all those greens in. Especially when I don’t have a salad for lunch.

  • 3 handful of fresh kale
  • 1 frozen banana
  • some frozen blueberries
  • sweet fruit like watermelon, pineapple or apple
  • half a jar of coconut water
  • half a tsp of each greens powder (I use Moringa, Barley Grass & Camu Camu)

I really like this combination cause it is cold and refreshing, nourishing but doesn’t taste too green/healthy. Do you like drinking green smoothies as well?

In Berlin I ate a super yummy wrap with black rice, tofu and a tahini sauce. I never ate round black rice before (not the hard, thin one you mix with basmati rice) and it tasted so good, very flavourful and now I want to cook with it at home. I could imagine it in a salad with greens, cucumber, pepper, smoked tofu and a tahini sauce…

I also discovered a vegan „Mortadella“ and I really love it. It almost tastes like the real one (even my dad & brother like it!) and it’s perfect if you crave something savoury but not veggie-tasting on your bread. I eat it with a bit avocado as a butter substitute and I can highly recommend you to try it if you like substitutes.

I just recently discovered @maddielymburner on YouTube and now she is my number 1 inspiration when it comes to health, veganism, food and fitness. She is so lovely, healthy and fit and her videos really motivate me a lot and give great inspiration for meals. She also has a second Instagram account that is more fitness related @madfit.ig as well as a second YouTube Channel where she posts at home workouts that I’ve been doing since two weeks now and I really love them!

I am totally inspired by the idea of minimalism and don’t owning a lot – just what you really need. Something that I want to work on more when I’ll be back from Australia. I am sure it will be a great start to only travel with a backpack for a year and hopefully, it won’t be hard to declutter because I know that I can live a wonderful life without many things I own.

Raw Alignment and her minimalism series on YouTube really inspire me, as well as Pick up Limes, who is another great inspiration!

I found this picture on Pinterest and that’s truely how I want all my relationships to be… This picture really speaks to my heart and soul.

Last but not least I completely fell in love with @annietarasova she is such an inspiring soul and her travel photography and also videography is just beautiful. She also creates amazing art and inspires in mindfulness, self-love and more!

What are your favourites this month? Who inspires you to work towards your goals, learn & grow?

Places I want to Travel to

If you’ve been following me for a while you’d know that I loved writing Bucketlist Travel Posts and present some beautiful places that I want to visit one day. But for these posts, I always used Pinterest pictures from strangers and now that the data protection regulation is more strict, I deleted them all from my blog.

So from now on, I am only going to show you places that blogger / Instagrammer that I follow have visited, so I can use their pictures and have a proper source and I hope I am allowed to do so – if you know better please let me know!

Palawan, Philippines

I never heard of this island before but Palawan is part of the Philippines and on the west. It is a very long but narrow and looks like paradise – am I right? Crisp turquoise water, beautiful wild nature to explore, long white sand beaches and nobody except you. That’s probably the main reason why I want to go to the Philippines so badly. It is still very underrated and unspoiled.

I haven’t been to any Scandinavian country but my dream is to rent a campervan and explore Norway ( & Sweden & Finnland & Danmark) for a longer period of time and really see a lot of the beauty they have to offer. A family member of mine has done a kayak tour in Sweden for a week and that sounds super fun and adventurous as well!

New York

I could never imagine living in such a big city, but I would love to experience the N.Y. vibe for some weeks – not just being on vacation and going to the popular places but really soaking that special atmosphere in and exploring some more unknown places.

That’s really what I want all my travels to be: longer than necessary to see all the touristy stuff so I can experience the place a bit more like a local. Hopefully, I will be able to do so in the future when I have a job and a family – but that’s what I really want, so I need to find a job that works with that life I want to live!

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Another little paradise on earth that I would love to visit, maybe for my honeymoon :D Bora Bora reminds me of the Maldives with all the water bungalows which isn’t usually my thing because I am not a huge fan of hotels and many touristy people on one place, but I mean – it’s still a little paradise and I am sure I would love it anyways! I think traveling should be a mixture of both: rest and adventure.

New Zealand

Another absolutely stunning country that I am super stoked to explore with a camper! All this breathtaking nature and amazing views. I would love to hike through the mountains, swim in the lakes and explore. Maybe I’ll do another work & travel year but in New Zealand – who knows?

Which places do you want to visit? Where are you going to soon? What is on your bucket list?

13 Reasons Why I love Summer

This summer has been an absolute blast for me! Sunshine and hot temperatures since April and I can’t get enough of it. A summer that I thought I could just dream of – especially now that I don’t have to go to school anymore and can really enjoy my free time.

I also work in a beer garden where we only open when it’s good weather and that means I already worked a lot (but also that you are bloody sweaty after 9 hours of dragging crates and making coffee.

Since I am going to the southern hemisphere at the end of September I am going to escape fall and winter in Germany and enjoy another wonderful spring and summer and the amazing weather in Australia. Which means one and a half year of good weather and lots of sunshine for me – can’t complain about that!

Sunshine! It’s proven that vitamin D (which our bodies produce with the help of sunlight) increases our energy and level of happiness and I can immediately feel that when sunbeams touch my skin.

Watering our garden barefoot! One of my favorite things to do in our garden (next to chilling at the pool obviously :D ) is walking barefoot through our garden, feel the grass underneath my feet, the warm earth between my toes, carrying a watering can and watering our flowers, tomato-, strawberry-, raspberry- and zucchini plants. The only problem is that you need to have an eye on the ground because last year I stepped on a bee and got stung in my toe and couldn’t properly walk for two weeks…

Laying in the sun at our pool! (or at the lake/ beach) Reading books, eating tons of watermelon and drinking homemade smoothies or milkshakes. Jumping in the pool to refresh. That’s how I could spend every day.

Eating outside! Something that we haven’t done a lot this year because there are a lot of wasps this summer, but it’s still one of my favorite things to do. Soaking in some morning sun sitting at our watercourse and enjoying the peace. Or having dinner with the family, eating garden tomatoes and zucchini or vegan sausages from the barbecue.

Hot summer rain! After a beautiful sunny morning, clouds overcast the blue blue sky and it starts to rain. It’s still warm outside, the ground is heated up but the raindrops slowly cool down the air and it smells like hot summer rain.

Eating fresh fruits and veggies! From our garden, freshly picked or grown under the south European sun. That’s what I could eat all day long. Watermelon, Strawberries, Mangoes, Grapefruit, Raspberries, Peaches, Nectarines, Blackberries, Grapes, Blueberries…

Dry in the sunshine! The tingling feeling of ocean or pool water evaporating by the heat and sunshine.

Riding my bike on mild afternoons! The sun is about to set, painting the sky in red, orange, violet and pink colors. Warm air is caressing my naked skin and blows through my hair. And I am just driving through the silent streets and not wanting to arrive at my destination.

Doing Yoga in the grass! Feeling the earth underneath, being grounded and touched by the sunlight.

Summertime means vacation time & traveling! Two or three weeks in another country, on the road with my family. Laying at the beach, exploring streets and enjoying life.

Sleeping with windows wide open! Hearing the birds in the morning, the wind blowing through the trees and smelling the uprising day.

Short pans and dress weather! Not having to put on jackets or shoes before going outside, wearing bikinis all day and just putting on a dress and sandals and your good to go.

The Smell of Summer! Sunscreen, chlorine, saltwater, seaweed, freshly mown grass, homemade strawberry jam, flowers, warm earth, fruit, hay and fields, summer rain…

I know that there are some people who are already done with all the heat and wish for some colder temperatures, but I’m totally fine with that. Especially when we have some warm summer rain here and there – that smell is just incredible, right?

What do you think about this summer? Do you love the heat and all the sunshine we have this year as well?
